As part of the Mayor’s Nonprofit Sustainability Initiative, the Office of Economic and Workforce Development has partnered with the Mayor’s office of Housing and Community Development, and the San Francisco Arts Commission to fund two new programs supporting organizations seeking permanent, affordable space and long-term leases.
Through the Northern California Community Loan Fund, financial assistance is available to address urgent needs by providing grants for one-time costs such as architectural, engineering, and legal services; rent stipends; moving expenses; or furnishings, fixtures, equipment and other tenant improvements.
Nonprofits may also apply for technical assistance for real estate planning, lease negotiation, site identification and other related needs.
Organizations may be eligible to apply for assistance if they have recently renewed or signed a lease, are at risk of permanent displacement, or are facing barriers to growth due to real estate constraints. The deadline for applications is Thursday, February 8 at 7:00 p.m.
