Technical assistance services include financial planning, space planning, identifying/evaluating potential sites, negotiating leases or purchase agreements, developing construction budgets and project timelines, and analyzing potential funding sources. Financial assistance may be used for relocation costs, such as predevelopment expenses (architect, engineer, permits), tenant improvements, holding costs, legal expenses, and moving expenses. Financial assistance grants will be typically up to $75,000; the Selection Committee reserves the right to make exceptions to the amount. Grants will be made on a competitive basis, based on the project need, scope, and request, with priority given to organizations with immediate and critical needs. Applications will be evaluated by NCCLF, CAST, and Urban Solutions on the basis of the criteria stated below. A Selection Committee comprised of public and private sector leaders in the arts and social services will review and make final decisions on those applicants, which will receive technical assistance and financial assistance awards.
