Kreative Growth Program 2024

Kreative Growth is a program led by Balay Kreative that offers seven Filipinx artists stipends ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 to BIPOC artists and allies in the Bay Area, in order to launch new works of art and culture in the Filipino Cultural District in San Francisco this year. There will also be free resources for artists such as:
- Free tuition in a Kreative Growth Masterclass series
- 1:1 mentoring program with industry professionals in their field of expertise
- Free studio space or co-working access for 3 months.
- Free venue space for final presentations (Jan – Feb 2025)
The Kreative Growth Artist Program is split into 5 categories of work, including visual arts, music, performing arts, film/media/animation, and comedy. The artists selected will create new works of art and culture that will be presented in SOMA Pilipinas by the beginning of 2025. There will be a total of seven awardees, one to two chosen for each track.
ELIGIBILITY
Applicants must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area
Applicants must be at least 21+.
All projects must be presented in SOMA Pilipinas, San Francisco, CA at one of our venues or a venue of your choosing in the SOMA district.
Proposed projects must not incite violence or promote hate language.
Projects must begin by August 2024 and be completed by January 2025.
Artist Stipend distribution will be in three steps:
1st Distribution: Must review and sign artist agreement by July 10th.
2nd Distribution: Required to finish 75% of the Masterclass Series by September 30th.
3rd Distribution: Finish 100% of coaching/mentor sessions, complete the final presentation/project by Feb 2025 & submit the final report.
